Airplantman’s newest design: a fresh take on an outdoor hanging lantern! This outdoor pendant light adorned with Tillandsia features an innovative ring design available in a wide array of sizes with optional misting and waterproof LED low-voltage lighting. Each lantern is constructed with 7 rings; diameter size listed is largest ring size. The powder coated aluminum rings are hand-strung with stainless steel cable making the lantern waterproof and lightweight—perfect for courtyards, terraces, and hanging from trees. UCLA Botanic Garden - Plantasia Listening Party

We recently had the opportunity to feature the Airplant Lantern at a UCLA Botanic Garden event celebrating Plantasia, music to listen to with your plants.  Our living lanterns were the perfect fit and set the ambience as the sun went down in the garden.  Dynamic shadows are a mix of foliage silhouettes and clean lines from our powder coated aluminum rings.  We love the way they create an enchanting sense of wonder with their mix of the organic and the designed.

Handmade in California from 100% recyclable, eco-friendly powder-coated aluminum, our lanterns are waterproof and won’t rust. Our hand strung stainless steel cables allow you to arrange each air plant and customize your air plant display.

Air Plants Come with each Lantern

Each lantern includes a starter kit of 20 air plants.  Booster kits of additional plants are available here if you would like to plant yours more densely.

Hanging Lantern Air Plant Care

The AirplantLantern is best suited to outdoors. If your lantern does not include the optional mister upgrade (great for keeping plants AND people cool!), water by spraying with a hose. If you live in a coastal climate, full sun can be tolerated. Inland, air plants prefer some afternoon shade. Tillandsia will prefer temperatures ranging from 50-85° F. Your purchase includes a Care Instruction Card with easy tips and FAQ's to keep your air plants alive and thriving.
