A Bright Green Place to Eat
This project was a fun opportunity to enhance the dining area for one of Snapchat's cafeteria spaces used by the extensive staff to refuel and recharge. Tillandsia vivid green and red foliage contrasts beautifully with the bold yellow and white color scheme. We love working on projects like this with a strong design by interior designers and architects along with beautiful furnishings. The clean modern look of the space worked well with our vertical garden AirplantFrames and tabletop AirplantVessels and creating a striking museum like setting brought to life with strong colors and rich botanicals.
Planting Style
Our planting style has evolved over the years and we love mixing dense and open areas of planting. This further highlights the openness and transparency possible when designing with Tillandsia. The rich foliage and vivid blooms pop against the negative space provided by creating intentional swathes of open areas.
Care
The bright light from adjacent windows keeps this project looking good between our regular maintenance visits. The lightweight AirplantFrame we designed and fabricate in Los Angeles is made from powder coated aluminum and stainless steel cable, making it light and waterproof. This makes watering a breeze and we rotate a few blooming plants through to ensure there is always a pop of color for diners to enjoy. The hand wired Tillandsia or air plants included in the vessels are easily removable from their powder coated steel base and can be soaked in their waterproof wire. This reduces the need to handle the plants, always a plus as this reduces damage and protects them from oils in our fingers that aren't healthy for their leaves. Clean, simple, and functional is the goal of every Airplantman product and design.
